Hi I’m Laine!
I have always had a love and passion for media. In high school, I took the only broadcast and video production class offered and never looked back. Now I am studying Communications and Media Arts with a minor in film and television at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT.
I have been in the video production and social media industries for four years, specializing in Instagram and TikTok content creation, management, and strategy. I’ve worked on numerous small-scale TV and film productions and have managed over 30 social media accounts.
I’m proud to say that I’ve found a rhythm in my career that sustains an average of 30,000 monthly viewers across all platforms I make content for. My ability to adapt to any situation and my hunger for learning is what allow me to grow in the media industry.
I have a variety of career interests and goals ranging from working in sports video production to running my sustainable fashion brand full-time and everything in between. The world is my oyster and I couldn't be more excited to dive in.

I started a skating Instagram account in 2018. I posted on this account purely to free up storage on my phone and track my own progress. In Jan. 2022, I switched my content to all reels and it has allowed me to reach over 200,000 people unintentionally. I grew my following by 5,800%, users reached by 5,200%, and profile visits by 487% all organically in just one year. I diversified in February 2023 by making a TikTok account for my skating as well. I grew to 16,000 followers in under a week. Now I am working on creating a community and engaging my audience on both accounts all while focusing on my mission of body confidence, inclusion, and diversity.
In 2020 I started by small sustainable business Basicallyy Broke Thrifts. I go thrifting for cute mid-plus size clothes. Then make outfits out of the pieces and create social media campaigns leading up to drop day. I collaborate with other thrifting businesses in giveaways with prizes ranging from a new wardrobe and an Apple watch. Now reaching over one million women through that page, I've been able to experiment with aesthetics and engagement strategies to create the Basicallyy Broke brand identity. Along the way, I have discovered my mission in life and have built a kind community for women to start embracing the beauty of their bodies rather than tearing them down to fit society's standards.

Videography
I was assigned to make various music videos in my broadcast and video production classes and this was one of them. This was made in my senior year in
2020-2021. I took inspiration from the original music video and re-created it to fit my vision of love. Since we were amid the pandemic I had my friends shoot their own, lovey-dovey footage serving as the "young love" and they sent it to me. I then used my parents and my grandparents to serve as the love continuing to blossom into old age where I storyboarded, directed, and shot their scenes using my own Nikon D3300 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II and I used FCPX to edit.
2022 QU Figure Skating
Spring Showcase Recap
For this video, I shot and edited everything as well as made the Instagram post. The camera used is my own Nikon D3300 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR II and I used FCPX to edit. This took me about an hour and a half to put together and post all in the same night as the showcase itself. I chose the song "Cloudy Day" by Tones and I because of the lyrics. We have a senior and several grad students who will be retiring this year and this was to serve as not only as a reflection of my first year on the team but also to give my fellow teammates a lasting memory of the sport they put their hearts into.
